With Oakland Urgent Care, you never need to make an appointment or plan your
week around us. You come in when it is convenient for you! However,
we will accept appointments if it makes planning your day easier.
Sometimes your visit may require multiple tests or procedures that would help us
ensure your time in the office is minimized if we know your coming.
Otherwise, feel free to come in whenever. Walk-in convenience means if and
when you feel like you need to be seen, then YOU make the decision about the
time and date.
The safest and quickest way to ensure your insurance plan is covered before
coming in is to call. We participate with most insurance plans known to us with only a few exceptions.
Located on the eastern edge of Auburn Hills directly across the street from Oakland
University. Visit the directions page
for more helpful information. We can be found on the first floor of the
plaza.
Enter the front and go to the rear of the building. Otherwise, you may find it more convenient to use the rear entrance
(parking available behind the building) where you'll
find us just inside the double doors.
We are a privately owned urgent care with walk-in primary care. We are not funded by,
or associated with, any major hospital or organization. However, we do
participate and have active relationships with Crittenton Hospital, Troy Beaumont
Hospital, POH, St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, and the Henry Ford Health System.
Oakland Urgent Care constantly looks for ways to improve patient care and
physician assistant's have been a recent movement in medicine that has
dramatically improved overall patient care. If your looking to understand

Physician Assistant's Explained
Osteopathic manipulation therapy (OMT) and Chiropractic techniques do share
similarities, but they are not identical. The founder of Chiropractic
Medicine, B.J. Palmer, was actually in D.O. training under Dr. A.T. Still, M.D.,
D.O., the founder of osteopathic medicine. Therefore, some of the
chiropractic techniques are shared with osteopathic medicine. However,
osteopathic medicine also incorporates traditional medicine, physical therapy
modalities, complementary medicine, massage, relaxation, and many other
techniques. As a general rule, chiropractors
will focus their attention on the spine alone, while OMT doctors will extend
therapy to soft tissues and joints outside of the spine. The main
difference between chiropractic spinal manipulation versus OMT is that
chiropractic methods make use of rapid short movements (high-velocity,
low-amplitude), while OMT mainly uses gentle, large movements (low-velocity,
high-amplitude) along with the use of rapid short movements when needed.
If you have any questions or concerns, or just want to learn if OMT is right for
you, make sure you don't forget to ask next time your in.
